Chiddingfold Junior Cricket - The Return

Chiddingfold Junior Cricket - The Return

Stephen Benbough15 Jun 2020 - 18:20

Working together to get the game on!

ECB and government guidance now permit cricket training and practice in small groups of up to six people (including a coach if applicable). More than one group of six can train at the same time, subject to the maintenance of social distancing requirements. This gives us an opportunity to start to bring back our boys and girls and we'll be starting with our U11 to U15 year groups. Hopefully, the younger players can follow soon after.

Chiddingfold Cricket Club (CCC) has put in place some rules and guidance to enable the partial return of senior and junior cricket as safely as we can. We need everyone to follow these and act in a sensible and responsible way. The better we are, the sooner we can return to becoming the lovely little, busy village Club that we always aspire to be.

General

Do not participate in any CCC activities if:

  • you or a member of your household has symptoms of Covid 19 – however mild;
  • if you have been asked to isolate by NHS Test and Trace because you are a contact of a known Covid 19 case; or
  • if you are classified as vulnerable on health grounds.

Distancing of at least two metres must be maintained at all times (except between members of the same household).

All participants must wash their hands at home before and after taking part in any CCC activities.

All participants are encouraged to bring their own hand sanitiser to any CCC activities (although CCC will maintain its own supply).

Facilities

Except in emergencies, only one person will be permitted in the pavilion at any one time.

Other than club officials and members of the coaching team, the pavilion will only be open for toilet access. One dedicated toilet will be available and there will be no access to the facilities in the changing rooms.

Soap and water will be provided in the dedicated toilet.

The dedicated toilet will be cleaned after each training session.

Personal Playing Equipment

Players will be encouraged to use their own equipment (e.g. helmets, bats, pads and gloves) during sessions and should not share this with other participants.

Where required and possible, players will be loaned protective equipment by CCC for the duration of the 2020 season.

Each player will use only one ball in training either by bringing their own or being assigned a ball by CCC. Where required and possible, players will be loaned a ball by CCC for the duration of the 2020 season.

No saliva or sweat should be applied to any ball at any time.

If equipment does need to be shared during a session, the UK government’s guidance on the sharing of equipment will be followed. Players will be asked to wash their hands after use and the equipment will be sanitised before any further use.

Any CCC equipment that has been used during a session and has not been retained by or loaned to an individual player will be sanitised at the end of the activity.

General Training Equipment

Mobile nets and stumps will be organised and placed by members of the coaching team prior to the start of sessions (with the use of gloves and sanitisation as required).

Only members of the coaching team will operate coaching equipment such as bowling machines and will take appropriate hygiene measures (e.g. gloves and sanitisation).

All equipment will be sanitised at the end of each session.

Cones and floor markers will be used to support social distancing during training sessions if required.
